    INJURED DUCK

I know we are lucky, I had given her up for gone. She seems to be doing well. She is eating her pellets but I mixed them with water because she didn't want to eat the hard ones. I think she may have some mouth pain. She is drinking and had some lettuce leaves today. I have just been...

    INJURED DUCK

I have 4 Buff Orphington ducks that are 2 years old. They free range with my chickens in our yard which is surrounded by fields with a treeline on one side. Four days ago when I went out to put everyone in the coop for the night, one of the female ducks was missing. When she was not there...

How to get ducks to go into coop at night?

I have 4 10 month old Buff Orpington ducks, 2 males, 2 females. Until the weather warmed up they went to bed with the chickens in the coop every night just after dark on their own. The last 2 nights they refuse to go in. I do have a fenced enclosure for them but I'm afraid of something...

    Stupid Hawks

I put both hens in our treeline beside our property hoping to lure it away from the rest. I'm going to try to find some netting today to cover the coop again. Thanks for your comment .

    The Buff Orpington Duck Thread

Thanks for your reply. I can't blame them for not laying yet. I'm in Southern Michigan and we have been in a deep freeze the last few weeks and also getting large amts of snow. I have a small kiddy pool for them with a heater and they splash around in it every day though.

    The Buff Orpington Duck Thread

I purchased 4 newly hatched Buff Orpington Ducklings May 31 of this year. They turned out to be 2 drakes and 2 hens. They live with my 8 layer hens and get along fine. I was checking out this thread because I haven't seen any eggs yet. I let them free range with the girls but haven't found any...

getting duck back in the evening

I have 4 Buff Oprington Ducks that were hatched around the end of May. I keep them in with my 8 chickens and have not had any problems. They have a big coop but I like to let the hens free range after I get my garden picked in the fall. I am nervous about letting the ducks free range for...

Molting - How long does this take?

My girls have not layed an egg since the beginning of December. Finally this last week I have been getting 2 or 3 eggs a day. This has been such a cold winter and they have been molting the entire time. I have had feathers all over the place. I did crochet some sweaters from a pattern I...
