    Here is a feeder I made a couple of years ago out of an old Gum-ball machine.....I know it's not very practical, it was just someting I did one afternoon while out tinkering around. I have to keep a cover over it as the chickens sure do like to throw the food out of this one.

    How many weeks old to process Frypan specials?

    My opinion ( and you know what is said about opinions) is go ahead and butcher. The last batch of frypan specials I had were raised to 16 weeks. Yes they were bigger but they were also some tough birds. I would take the smaller birds in a heartbeat over bigger tough ones.

    Comb Bleeding/Black Spots...not frostbite I dont think??

    I don't believe that is frost bite. However as far as the bleeding goes my rooster was having a simular problem and the hens were showing him no mercy. I went out at night while he was on roost with some corn starch. I packed the bleeding area of his comb really well with the corn starch...

    I guess we should name all of ours but only a few have names.... Marshall Cogburn - our big Barred Rock Rooster (Yes I am a John Wayne Fan) Goldy - our Golden Sebright rooster Goldy Hen - our Golden Sebright hen ( Been in Love with Goldy Hawn since I was a young boy)

    Well after cruising/lurking for sometime I felt it was time to officially join. Our flock consist of 20 Barred Rocks, 8 golden comets, 4 Mille Fleur, 2 golden sebrights and one good ol leghorn. This sight is a wealth of knowledge and information.
