    Jealous Of New Layer

Sorry for not getting back timely, but the issue has worked itself out. All other eggs have been normal, and both are using the nesting boxes to lay.

    Jealous Of New Layer

Back story: Had two chickens, one was taken by a snake late last year. Got two more chickens this spring. One was taken by a snake. Resolved the snake problem. Situation: The newer hen just began laying, but the older hen is not happy about it. It's obvious the newer hen is not using the...

    Chicken Poo Loving Dog....

At what point does a dog overdose on chicken poo???? Not a serious question, I don't think, but our new puppy needs an intervention. Passes up her food in favor of chicken poop!

They won't roost in the coop :(

Our two girls only go up into the roosting area if they are scared. They free range from morning until dark, and always sleep directly on the ground in the back corner of the lower part of the coop. It's going to be interesting when they start laying.

What’s wrong with my pullets?! They will hardly try any fresh fruit or veggie scraps

My two are maybe 10-11 weeks (just a guess) and they can about only two things: feed and grass. They have absolutely no interest in meal worms or anything else. Today is day 2 of opening the coop door before work and letting them do their thing until evening.

Our neighbors just got a new coop for their flock, and are letting us use the one they replaced while we build. It's in good shape, but they outgrew it. It's got plenty of room for the four birds we will be acquiring.

Any laying hens well suited for our summers would work. They're primarily going to be pets, but we do love fresh eggs. Our neighbors have about 12, and sometimes they come visit, so we sort of got the fever that way. To add, we don't have the set up for chicks, which is why I'm looking for coop...

    Texas

Hello everyone! We are just North of Godley, TX, having recently removed ourselves from the hustle and bustle of city life. Best decision we ever made. If anyone is selling, or knows of someone selling pullets (we aren't currently set up to deal with chicks) we are looking for three or four egg...

We are just North of Godley, well West of Crowley. Just got into chickens, and I'm looking for 4-5 females ready to lay, if anyone has ideas or chickens to sell.

Looking for 4-5 Chickens - Joshua TX Area

Hello, New to raising chickens, but we moved out to the country, have land, and got attached to our neighbor's chickens, who stop by to say hello on occasion. We're looking for 4-5 females, ready to lay in the general Joshua/Godley/Crowley/Cleburne area. If further out, that's fine, so just...
