    Were at a loss here...

I wish I caught this sooner. I wish I caught this sooner.... I am horrified that this got to this point. The vet took xrays and called me with the news, the bumble has eaten away at the bone, the toe will need to be amputated. Nothing can be done to the toe until the other leg heals. Blood test...

    Were at a loss here...

I did treat the bumble. Let him soak in a Epsom salt bath (after getting a "get clean" bath) and then I cleaned it with Provon antimicrobial soap, put iodine on it then the triple antibiotic ointment & then bandaged it to stay clean.

Welp... Mr.Mighty is at the vet today. Brought him in last night to see how things were looking and the bumble got 2x worse. I let him soak in the tub for awhile & then he got to spend the night inside with us. Vet is going to open up the infection, clean it out and is going to xray the other...

Thank you, we are very frustrated and saddened by everything. Amiga: Interior house 4x8 insulated, but divided in half inside - 2 ducks on each side. Exterior 8x8 all sides are fenced and top is covered to keep out rain/snow One side has a kiddie pool during the warm months, we just took it...

    Were at a loss here...

Were at a loss here. We have had such a tough run with these boys I just don’t know what to do anymore and I seriously regret getting these ducks. Ill try to keep this long story short…. We have 4 male Peking ducks that are almost 2yrs old. Three of them from the start have singled one (Rubber)...

What are you using for footing in the run?

We recently had the same issue, it was a muddy stinky mess..yuck! I would rake out the sand/poop layer every weekend and add new fresh sand, but it was just nasty. So I laid down a thin bed of straw and we add to it as needed if its wet, then I rake that out each weekend and replace. It has been...

    Big Bully

Thank you all for the advise. Were going to see how they do this week and if Ex is still at it we will put him up for adoption. Yesterday Rubber finally stood his ground and fought Ex back, but then it turned into a huge fight...everyone got involved. We stood back and let them go at, I figured...

I would really hate to give Ex up....as much as he is a bully, the thought of that breaks my heart too.

    Big Bully

One of our four Pekings (appropriately named The Executioner) is bullying another one named Rubber. He only picks on him and not the other two. He chases him around the yard when they are out and even when they are in their fenced-in pen, once he catches Rubber he bites and pulls his feathers...
