Yes I just noticed she has her rooster in the basement since it's still not above freezing. So you would be right about the moisture from the Vetericyn causing problems.
Hmmm not sure. I know the chicken chic is using it on her rooster and he's getting along just fine. Maybe the ingredients respond differently than water.
Try Vetericyn VF spray daily and Eucerin Cream at night. Recommended by the Chicken Chick. She's on FB and has a website with gobs of awesome info on care and love of chickens. There' s whole section on Frostbite and Winter with Chickens. Look under "Chicken Resources Directory". Hope this...
Check out the chicken chick online. Her website has some excellent info in the resources directory on frostbite prevention and winter with chickens. I've followed the advice and so far so good.
I think one problem is with my brooder I always have to come from above. It's a watermelon box so there's no being at their level yet. They come a running for mealworms but try to touch them? Nope Nope Nope! So Im going to be patient and continue working with them, using some of these ideas...
I need help with ideas to tame my chicks. They're 3 wks and will eat out of my hand, but act like I'm murdering them when I pick one up. Our coop is an A-frame with run underneath, so if I can't handle them, I will have a hard time checking on their health and such. Thanks
I would take the nesting boxes out till they're actually old enough to begin laying. If they're used to sleeping there, they will continue to and break eggs. I also have a question. I have a 3 wk old australorp who still has not feathered out. Just as big as everyone else, just all fuzz. Any...
I have a question. I have a 2 1/2 wk old salmon faverolle chick. She has the feathered legs and coloring, but she has never had the puffy cheeks. Very slim faced. She is from a hatchery, not a breeder. Would that matter or is this common?
