    Thanks I notice that a few chicks have a gold tint also but still have the penciling. The black chicks fight each other and the other chicks constantly. I can’t keep them together, makes me think they are going to be cockerels from my past experience with them.

    So they are slightly sex linked? I know the dark brahmas are.

    I have a jersey giant rooster that I crossed with several dark Brahma hens. 4 chicks are solid black with feathered feet, 6 chicks are penciled with feathered feet. Would this be considered a black sex link? Which would be male or female? Thanks

    I have a approximately 3 month old buff Brahma that I’m having trouble telling whether it’s a cockerel or pullet. Anyone have any experience sexing buff brahmas at this age? Thanks.
