So ended up taking our wonderful boy Delta to am amazing new home for him with lots of girlfriends and a huge yard to free range in! He's so much better off and I LOVE it! In doing so we brought home 2 girls with us the same age as him/our other girls.
Its been a good week now and everyone is...
I have a 16 week old Black Austraplorp rooster.
He was purchased in June at Family Farm and Home as a pullets with 3 others. Turns out hes a male. We tried to keep him (obviously), but alas we are not allowed roosters in my township.
Also full disclosure, he started being a jerk to the hens...
Its ok. I understand. I just want him to find a good home that will be able and willing to give him a chance. We love him but I can't really handle if something goes bad. We love the girls and they are what's most important. He was an accident and well, illegal to own so...
I tried to let her back in with the others. I threw down some worms as treats to lure her in and the rooster attacked another hen going for treats twice. I removed him. He's not going back in there. Anyone want a rooster?
So far its only 1 hen of the 3. Seems like his favorite. They've been buddy buddy all growing up.
im not 100% sure it was him. We didnt catch him. Came hime to see her damage. Don't see any other signs of anything else.
here's some crappy pics ofnher head. Shes also missing a ton of tail...
What do i do? Do i need to keep her isolated from them all?
I think shes sad.
And its a pain in the but transferring her from in the house at night outside to in a small cage alone during the day
