The other egg is trying to hatch. I carefully picked away some shell and put back under the mom. Moved the whole group to the nursery on the ground. Should I leave it or help it out? Will the mom help?- debiJae

I have a hen who's been Broody for MONTHS. Every time she gets close to hatching an egg , she leaves and someone else becomes a mom! This has happened 3 times in the past year. Our boody has a BABY!
The mom is still sitting on several eggs ,so I don't want to move them. They are about 4 ft off the ground right now. Our coop is huge, along one side of barn and we have 4 roosters and 12 hens.- debiJae

Our boody has a BABY!
Our first ever chick hatched and is cute as ever. What do we do now? We got most of the chickens as babies and kept them in a room set up to make it through the winter 2 years ago. We just never thought the eggs were viable. Who knew? Thanks deb- debiJae

Explain what being broody is to me.
How do you know when eggs are fertilized? Yes, this is my first (surviving) flock. We have 7 hens and 7 Roosters . Until we get rid of some. Didn't know what we were getting. We only get 4 eggs per day and I've been eating them . And allergic to Penicillin. I don't know what they are, was told...- debiJae
