So I had one bully leghorn that chased the others then I isolated her and she's been calm although quite lethargic and then the other leghorn who's the youngest started beefing with my amber star who's submissive and then I put that leghorn with the bully leghorn and she was instantly sized up...
This is the type of obsessive intimidation I'm dealing with 😂 the leghorn started bullying the amber start so I isolated her with the bully and immediately the bully sized her up!
It's been resolved. Whatever was causing that brown/orange excrement it seems to have subsided or what I fear, entered a dormant phase. It's impossible now to determine what happened.
But thanks for the interaction!
Well they seem to get on well enough at this point but when it comes to feeding the bully actually keeps an eye out for what the other chickens are doing. When we free range she only eats when she's successfully taken over what the other hens are eating. Then she'll eat for 1min max before have...
What are all these questions everything is normal.
Layer feed with supplemental
I don't take their temperatures? Is that a thing?
They're all new layers so roughly 7 months the smallest leghorns comb is beginning to brighten and grow.
Crops are healthy, soft. They pack them full of food.
Oh, so maybe time will tell but I did notice the bully leghorn's comb has lost color - may indicate sickness. They're all 3 in a 3x4 meter cage with bird netting as the cover so they have good exposure to sunlight (they love chilling in the sun) they've got two henhouses one on each corner but...
I check on them everyday, I've gotten good relationships with all of them except the small leghorn who's slowly warming up. I noticed the bully had a vibrant red comb but now it's gotten pale - maybe she is just unwell. And yes they've got a calcium supplement and high quality layer feed. They...
I visit my hens every day since I got them two weeks ago. At first everything was great but now I have an issue with not collecting any white eggs for the last 4 days. The Amber star has been Queen royalty while the white leghorn - who's also a bully - demonstrated her amazing laying prowess and...
I'm investigating two possibilities, this is the first; recently (2024/04/30) I got 3 hens: two white leghorns and one Amber star. They are all within 3weeks age and the amber star started laying small but, cute eggs. Three days at her new home, the bigger legorn started laying too on the 3rd...
One guy says it's only complicated if you complicate it, the next guy says you better get your paper work in order😭😂 and I'm feeling like I was hoping it was really like what the first guy said, but it's beginning to look like Im shit at it 😂
