Hi our silky just hatched an egg and probably some more to come. She is in a nest box in the main coop. Will the babies be ok or will the other chickens try to kill them? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

No new birds. We bought them from Running's, not sure but I think they are vaccinated when you get them there.

Thank you all for responding. The information is all very helpful. I think I will give the extra perch a try. I don't think she will be able to fit there after she is full grown.

OK here are the pics of the chickens on the perch and the one that wants to sleep on the shelf over the windows. She started out in the corner but now she goes to about the middle between the windows.

Yes I believe she gets on the higher perch across from the windows and then jumps up to the shelf over the windows. I'll post more pics tomorrow.

Yes the perch is about 9 feet long and the others are only using about 4 feet of it if that much. I am new here so I will see if I can post some pics.
