Thanks a lot! Definetly eased me there, glad to hear that your duck is doing great too! :D
Oh, and does she still has the black spot on her tongue? Just curious hehe
Hi, sorry for posting in an old thread but my duck also has the exact same thing!
He seems to be doing fine but got a bit finnicky with food, he would try a bit of the food then spit it out, and would keep doing that until he can get the food down.
Not sure if its because the black spot is...
Update: Great news! My pekin regained his appetite today, ate like an absolute mad lad, weird thing is he used to not like pellets
now he somehow got the appetite for some pellets, guess he'd rather eat those pellets than have a tube down his throat lol . Ill post some pics later
Another update: The other muscovy passed away around an hour ago, had to bury him in the dead of night... Feels so wrong to bury a pet in the middle of the night. But hopes are looking up for my last surviving duck, the pekin. Seems to be getting better and is less wobbly.
And I want to say...
Im planning to self isolate, although it might be futile since theres 8 other people in my vicinity that has already come into contact with me, good news is that only some of the bird flu variant can infect humans, i just hope that i get lucky. I might do a pcr test to make sure that im not...
Another update: the vet came up with a new diagnosis, it could be avian influenza AKA bird flu, and he instructed me to disinfect everything that the duck has come into contact with...
I will keep posting new updates as the situation progresses
Update: unfortunately one my muscovies passed away, in a single day went from healthy to dead.
The other muscovy duck is also having small tremors.
The pekin is still holding out, he's also got a thin opaque layer but its not as bad as the ones on the muscovy, he's also still able to drink and...
Yes the vet originally thought it was an aflatoxin poisoning, and I think the pekin mightve had it from a feed that was a bit musty, I shouldve propely checked it before giving it to him..
But with how fast the disease progressed in the other muscovy ducks, im starting to have my doubts on the...
Hi, i have 2 muscovy ducks and 1pekin, my pekin caught a disease 4 days ago, brought him to the vet and the vet told me that its fungus infection and told me to get some poultry mycotoxin binder.
But the next day the disease have jumped to one of my muscovy duck, and her eyes are white with a...
So I have a 10 month old pet drake, and he usually eats universal food for poultry (pretty sure it's unmedicated), and dedak which is basically rice bran. I usually mix 50% bran and 50% of the special poultry food, out of nowhere he decided to stop eating them (kept "spitting" them out) so I...
Ive been giving them rice because lately the price for waterfowl feed sky rocketed, so ive got to reduce the concentration of the feed and give rice as a substitute
Its been doing that for a few weeks now.. prob around 2 and a half weeks ? Oh and ive been feeding them with rice and some kind of waterfowl feed, and ive been giving their water multi vitamins everyday.
And sometimes they graze for grass and sweet potato leaves
So my Gosling here, his name is pipi and his wings are kind of drooping..., He eats and does everything normally, is this a normal behaviour ? I really want to fix this because the tip of his wings touch the soil and get dirty everytime.
He can flap his wings just fine but he just cant seem to...
