    Quail production slowed drastically

Also, is it ok to put oyster shell in the pen if there are roosters in there? I’ve heard the excess calcium is bad for the males... I’m not sure about the egg eating, I know mine had never eaten one in they’re lives until about three days after I had started feeding them smashed extra eggs...

I’m not sure if I got those names right. I have 4 A and M quail, 3 brown “normal” quail, and 2 lavender, light...

    Quail production slowed drastically

I’ve got 9 coturnix right now, when I first got my quail I had them in a shed in my back yard. In the wire pens for commercial use. They didn’t lay at all with natural light, leaving the shed door open. I added a artificial light with 14 hours of light for them and they started laying pretty...

    New Mexico

hi, I live in Southern New Mexico. I have a flock of 16 chickens. I have about 9 coturnix. I live on a farm in the middle of nowhere and enjoy raising animals and having fresh eggs/food. Joined this site so I could ask some questions whenever I run into any problems with my birds. Thank you
