The hens just started laying eggs the last couple of weeks, matter of fact one hasn't started yet. :) Is there anything that I should do to prevent the meatspots? they freerange a lot and have lots of snacks, and eat Purina layer chicken feed. THey love, watermelon, berries, mealworms and bread...
I don't know why but there is a black spot in the eggs when I crack them open. Only one it looks like a piece of pepper? Is this ok? I have no roosters, and allow my hens to free range at least 3 hours a day. Thanks so much.
Help, One of my hens is limping. I had id tags on my chickens and her leg grew into the skin. I pulled off the id tags on all my birds! She has shown improvement, but is still limping. She has a scab on it. Should i pick it off and put hydrogen peroxide and first aid ointment on it?
