    Yes, nest boxes. Also, one of my Araucanas started doing a strange thing today- she started sqawlking and flapping her wings every few seconds- odd.

    Brooding Hen

    okay - but the poor girl is just sitting on eggs for no reason- and she never leaves her nest for food or water?! and with no chick's insight? I provide grains and freshwater but have no idea if she gets any of the two- ?! I feel bad for her.

    Yes, typically I have oyster shells am out now- but grind their shells up and put them into other feed. I have 5 nesting boxes and 6 hens. They seem to only like 2 of the nesting boxes, I have even put marble egg and golf balls in other beds to encourage-

My neighbors have adopted their next-door neighbor's rooster- who has become quite attached to Emily, even tho he was raised by my other neighbor- he goes back over to her house every day now and she walks him back to his real coop every night...
