    Can I put my chicks in the coop yet?

    I'm new to chickens -- first batch of 8 Buff Orpingtons, and they are 4 weeks old. Nighttime temps are 60s & 70s F, daytime up to 90. I know I'm supposed to wait until they are fully feathered, but I wonder with the warm Summer temps if I need to wait that long. Here's a photo.

    Covered run flooring suggestions

    I have a new coop/run I built based on the Third Coast Craftsman design. The run is covered, and is about 12' x 8', and we have 8 Orpington chicks in the brooder for another couple weeks. Planning on doing Deep Bedding Method in the coop, with hemp, but I'm unclear on what to do with the run...
