    Leg Banding ?

I want to start breeding selectively, but I am thinking of hatching chicks out every 10 weeks or so. How would you keep up with who was hatched out when? Or just put the littles in a pen together and separate them out once they mature some. Thoughts?

    Incubators

What is the main difference in still egg incubators and the others that are on the market? I'm looking for a simple inexpensive incubator for 12 eggs or less. If they are really cheap, I wouldn't care to buy two. I've found one at McMurray that holds 6 - has anyone used it?

    Silkie thread!

Quote: I would not buy hatchery silkies. When you do start raising nicer ones, the lesser quality ones will be breeding too and will dilute your good stock unless you keep them permanently separated. I would recommend you find a local silkie breeder or find a nearby chicken swap event and get...
