I have attached a photo of the red ball and shell less egg, Well that's what I think it is. They were attached by a 2.5cm cord. All 3 hens still seem to be fine. I would love to know what it is and why it happened.

Has anyone had a chicken lay a slightly smaller than a golf ball size bright red ball of fluid, I'm guessing it was filled with blood by the colour. This was attached by a 2.5cm cord to I guess a shell less egg? All three of my chickens seem very healthy. It was not laid in the nesting box...
