UPDATE: There wasn't an embryo on the 9th day, but from now on I'm always going to have 12 eggs just in case. (Keeping in mind that it could be different for someone else)
Update: Bird mite and red mite are the same thing 🤦♂️don't know how to delete comments. I used dichotomous earth and an experimental treatment called Exzolt which you mix into their water. The dichotomous earth worked a treat and today I gave the chooks Exzolt, will update in a week or so how...
What I did was wipe all wood surfaces with dichotomous earth and that seemed to thin out their numbers, I also brought some experimental Exzolt oral solution and I am going to try that soon. (Red Mite)
I live in Australia where bird mites are extremely common, I saw one that was red which lead me to belive they were red mites. I then did more research and determined that they were most likely bird mite, they are on everything I touch.
Just found out my coop has bird mites, any advice? I have been considering a shot, dichotomous earth, bathing in a specialised bath, or introducing a predatory mite. Anyone have any suggestions?
Hello everyone, on my incubator user manual, my incubator says it has to be at least 80% capacity, but I only have 2 eggs left over from my last batch, does it matter or do I need to buy new eggs?
