    Thanks to all. they did the same thing with straw, so I finaly just carpeted their boxes. Seems to work just fine.

    My chickens are 18 weeks old, and we got our first egg yesterday. My question has to do with the nesting boxes. I made a nice bed of grass clippings and they scratched it all out and layed the egg on the wooden floor of the box. They did the same thing when I had wood shavings in there. The...
