    I have a Barred Rock rooster and Australorp hens -- 4 chicks hatched. What do you call this breed besides "Heinz 57?" How about BR rooster and Ameraucana? Thanks.

    Aracaunas and laying

    Hey everyone. I have a flock of 19 hens (RIR, BR and Aracauna). The RIR and BR are still laying, but the Aracaunas have stopped laying the past 2 weeks. I know most hens slow down in Winter, but is this unusual for Aracaunas. Appreciate any info! David

    Does anyone know of any hatcheries that have juvenile hens for sale? I've got an order for chicks from Ideal in May, but looking to expand the flock now. Appreciate any help!

    Greetings all. Not necessarily new to the site, but new to this page. Located in Coahoma, TX (just east of Big Spring). I have 3 roosters and 1 hen (didn't know what they were until they grew). Looking for hens of the Dominique, Wyandotte or Orpington variety. Thanks

    Stressed chickens?

    I recently obtained 4 hens and a rooster from an animal shelter. I've provided a nice nesting house for them and after 3 days confinement I've let them out to free range. Thus far I've had no eggs. How long does it take for them to adapt to a new environment and are they too stressed right...
