    Winter is Coming …

So. My 24 week pullets have been frolickingly, free-ranging on half an acre under the Ohio summer sun for their whole lives. These are my first chickens. They’re pets and I have no expectations of them except love. That being said, Winter is coming. What can I expect? Will they still want to be...

    Wino Buff Orpington

I've had to switch to one of those steel vacuum cups with a lid. On the pro side, it does stay cold longer and it definitely holds more.

    Wino Buff Orpington

My 21 week old Buff Orpington keeps drinking out of my wine glass every time I leave it unattended. I have to take it with me everywhere I go. Is this odd?

    Size of pullet eggs

2 of my 20 week-old Pullets are laying small eggs. Small is normal at this age, right? One is a Black Austrolorp and the other is a Buff Brahma. These little first eggs can be eaten, can't they? They've each laid about an egg a day for a week and a half.

    That’s Not Food!

I know, right? They peck the bottom even worse when we’re sitting in them. Kinda hard to relax …
