Hello!! I’m a 17 year old female from Northern California. I got my first chicken in August 2020. She was my grandparent’s, and I rescued her when she suddenly couldn’t walk and was starving. I brought her home and nursed her for two months until one day she started walking again! I convinced my parents to keep her, which wasn’t too hard because they saw my commitment to her and they knew I wouldn’t slack off taking care of her. Flynney is my best friend now, and as an autistic, she really helps me when I’m feeling overwhelmed or depressed. She’s always there to make me smile or give cuddles. I recently got a friend for her, an Amerucauna. I spend hours with them out in the yard each day. I never knew how much love a chicken could give, and how much I could love a chicken.
