    No sure what she is!

I think I’m leaning to the Australorp ....she’s not big enough to be a Minorca. She’s on the small side. She’s closer in side to my blue Andalusians.

    No sure what she is!

I believe she does have white earlobes. She’s super shy and it’s hard to get close to her.

    No sure what she is!

we ordered chicks from McMurray back in October. They sent us a bonus one. This girl is super pretty, a bit on the smaller side and very very black. So much so she looks iridescent in the sun! What is she?

What stinks even more is, it's late here and we can't go out and get stuff(our tSC closes early) and we are leaving for PA in the early am! I just have to hope and pray my other gals will be ok with my mom until we get back. Then I will get a camera, and take other measures to hopefully prevent...

Yes it did. Like I said previously. Where we placed the coop it backs up to a uncovered area of our yard. I need to get lights up back there! And yes I thought about a game camera. We have so many predators here I'm actually amazed that I have t had this devastation before now.

Not far enough apparently! They got through in the one section that wasn't covered over with bricks or rocks of course. I don't know if it was coons. Don't they usually leave a blood trail?

The hole wasn't big enough for them to wonder off from. It was seriously small. I think whatever it was pulled them out one by one and enjoyed a 15 course dinner Wow really?! I don't think one could have fit in this tiny hole. It's about the zip of my hand! Yikes! Sorry! Yea me thinking...

Yes. All we gone. No sign of anything in the back woods behind the coop! No tracks, we even examined the fence to see if we could see fur pulled off, nada. It's crazy! I've never heard of anything taking that many at once! I don't know what to do now. We threw some heavy rocks around the...

We susally check on our chickens in the am before we go off and do what we need to do. Today however we were leaving early and we did not. We heard our older ones clucking away so we thought all was good. NOT THE CASE. we came home to check on them and our chicks who were about 10 weeks old were...

    Chickens dying randomly

The latest one was a gold sex link, she was about 3 years old. The other was a EE and about 2. Those were my pure breeds. Most of my others are "barn yard specials". As I have a rooster and let hens go broody. I have switched out roosters 3 in 3 years. They have a diet of tractor supply...

    Chickens dying randomly

Does this happen to any one else? I have had two chickens die on me this summer. One day they seem fine the next we find them in the run just flopped over! What the heck?! I know chickens hide disases like no tomorrow. I'm worried about my other girls. We did have our rooster die on us...

    Letting flock reproduce

Oh good point about degrading the quality! My birds are pretty that have grown and hatched for sure. Our roosters is our 3 in so many years so so far so good with that(our first died, second one to mean). I don't doesn't birds only eggs and I don't care if I get a few less eggs a day ;)
