Are they feathered enough to go out with a heat lamp?

13 of my chicks are off heat & happy as clams out in the coop with the big girls actually! Super happy it went so smooth.

Are they feathered enough to go out with a heat lamp?

Different ages, but I actually have 1 plate already in my garage I forgot about.

Are they feathered enough to go out with a heat lamp?

Nope. This exact brood group is 6. I have 6 from another brood & 13 from another. 🤣 far too many right now. I just normally don’t brood outside.

Are they feathered enough to go out with a heat lamp?

Yeah the temp is hitting my proper. No draft. I’m very paranoia about the lamp so I’ll prob get a plate.

Are they feathered enough to go out with a heat lamp?

If I have a heat lamp in the area still, are they feathered enough to go out in the little coop?

My Silkie roo is getting it on with my LF hen?!

I have 4 roosters for 10 hens right now, by accident. All Silkie roosters. It’s so funny because they stay outside of the run, in a separate pasture. The roosters slip through the fence, the big girls do not. But they come in JUST to eat, drink, and mate... then eventually they run off & stick...

    All Chicks Shake Heads

It’s supposed to be uhm... caffeine free? Well used, harmless, made-for-chickens sold by rural king. But Im kind of wondering now, do I believe the labeling? I tried reading up on the topic & most say it’s safe but I’m starting to become doubtful.

    All Chicks Shake Heads

Alllllll my chicks shake their heads. Real fast, almost twitch like. None of my adults do this. I cannot find any mites, lice, etc. I use coffee ground bedding..... and I do need a larger space for them. Could the coffee ground bedding be making them twitch? Id feel terrible. Also, quick make...

My Silkie roo is getting it on with my LF hen?!

Yes I noticed it’s like he’s a rodeo man, hanging on for dear life up there 😬

My Silkie roo is getting it on with my LF hen?!

I’m wondering if it’s such a bad pairing that I shouldn’t allow it? Idk, I guess chicken breeding isn’t as serious as say... dog or horse breeding. It’s not like I’d be marketing & selling these offspring. 🤣

My Silkie roo is getting it on with my LF hen?!

It really looked like he got the deed done. What would these chicks be like if I let them hatch? Honestly I’m shocked, he went from being bullied, to the hens completely laying down for him. 🤣

Putting Chicks Outside: Heat Lamp Safety

Here’s my youngest that I’m thinking should just be kept inside. What do you think? I believe they are 2wks. The yellow one shown is massive lol but the rest are about as feathered as the black & white chick shown.

Putting Chicks Outside: Heat Lamp Safety

I’ll show you with chicks inside. To be truthful, I’ve had this metal on metal (pen touching lamp) set up for weeks 🤣 I considered the same issues so I sat around & made sure it didn’t melt or turn hot to touch. So there’s that at least, but good looking out. I’m thinking I’m probably overkill...
