    That's a really cool site though. We had a friend who took our eggs and got a chick that was yellow. All our eggs that hatched were black.

    Ok that's what I thought. But you said you think that first one is a roo but he doesn't have the barred coloring. Course just might not have gotten the gene. I had read that barred rock gene was passed to roos and not females in barred crosses? Or does that not happen every time.

    Weirdly enough, there's a 5th I didn't bother taking a picture of. He has the barred coloring and is clearly a boy.

    So there are 4 and two look like the first picture, little comb coming up, and a little round. The other two have no comb what so ever. Any guesses? Breeds were possible mom buff Orpington, barred rock, and light brahma. Dad was a silken silkie.

    Ok thank you. Out of our first 5 straight run chickens, 3 were roosters. These six we have now are pullets. I have an irrational fear now.

    Oh that's the pen for our chicks. We got six new chicks and the little ones are in there. Just working on getting everyone accustomed. I built that pen myself.
