Hi...I have two large Peking Ducks.
I'm a worrier in the winter that they will be cold or ? Frostbite on their feet....
Can anyone give some good ideas regarding bedding....a good type of "home" for them. Do I put them in the shed with my hens and rooster?? Right now they have just a little...
Can anyone give a guess on this? I have a coop out back, fenced in...I heard a commotion yesterday, looked out back to see my roosters who were free ranging, peering into this coop squaking. I think about 8 minutes passed before I could get out there. When I did I saw my black hen dead on the...
Thank you. Yes they have a little hut w a door that is inside a fenced in area covered w tarp so basically it's with a windy storm that blows the snow in. They also can and do go underneath the chicken coop to get out of the wind. I think I worry too much about them being cold. I just am unsure...

Your ducks will actually roost?? How would I try and get them to go up the ramp? I'd rather have them in in the winter. But they can go down the ramp; just not up...which is such a pain to chase them and put them in.....
Oh thank you! I'll try the towel idea! We did put in (just today) a hand-made "coop" for the 2 ducks we have; I put hay in the bottom of it and they ran in and layed down :) I went out when dark and put a screen over the front (there is no door)....do you think they need to be locked in...
