I had a man show me yesterday, that if you spread their wing out, you can see a gap or split in the feathers toward the tip if it's a male.I thought that was really neat! -

I have three poults from different hatches that I would eventually like to pen together. But they peck at each other (eyes) pretty hard. What age would it be safe to mix them? The oldest is 3 weeks. -

Mine would not drink enough and become dehydrated overnight and die the next day. I always dip their beak in the water but they still wouldn't drink enough. But the coins in the water worked great! He also stopped the flipping over on his back and not being able to get up. His legs are alot... -

no shell on egg
I have a blue slate hen that has been laying for about a month. Today when I went to feed them, I found two eggs without shells. Does anyone know what causes this? Is it feed related? She gets layer, scratch and greens. Thanks, Donna
