Hello. Long story made short, one of my hens turned out to be a male. Mated and they layed two eggs, I let her sit on them thinking they were infertile. I candled them out of curiosity and saw development. Her nest was on the ground, and this morning the babies hatched. I mounted a box to the...
Thank you! Yes it’s new... I try to scrape as much poop off the perches as I can whenever it builds up, so we shall see how long that lasts. Your aviary is beautiful! I love how open it is! I wish mine were a bit wider, but space was limited :’) Also, your little pigeon family is precious!
Here’s my quaint little aviary. I plan to paint it and spruce it up, so these are the before pictures. (It’s usually a lot brighter inside, it’s just an overcast day)

It's simple...
Just post some pictures of your setup (and maybe show...
Thanks guys! Hmmm off topic, but is there a topic where people can show off their aviaries on the dove and pigeon section? If not, should I make one? I was thinking that others could get aviary/loft inspiration like people get for their chickens from the coop pages.
Ahh got it! On the subject of weather, do they do well in heat/humidity? I will have a little bird bath for them by summer, but do they have difficulty during southern summers?
Two out of four walls are completely sheltered. Only one wall of full wire, and then the door, which takes up a wall. The aviary is in a corner beside a large shed, backed against a garage. Not much wind gets to them, so I guess they’re good! Thanks-
Question: what temperatures become too cold for them? I’m in the southeast, so it never gets below zero, but it can still get cold. I have a smaller little temporary shelter I can put them in when it gets cold. Thanks!
