    So a local lady had some imported Bresse hens and one of her Icelandic roosters got in there and she decided to hatch out some eggs. I can't wait to see how these ones look grown up and how they will do. Does anyone have adults of this mix or know what I should expect with egg production...

    So my roo is a blue copper maran and my hens are Rhode Island Red, Columbian wyandotte, calico princess, black sex link, light brahma, buff brahma, and barred rock. I also have a hen that's the same as the roo.

    The 12 hens are in full production now yesterday I got 9 eggs in the morning and another 9 when I checked on them at night.

    They have been laying for 6 days now I'm up to 17 eggs I used a few today for scrambled eggs and man they were delicious.     Oh okay I was just reading you want a rooster for every 8-12 birds depending on the fertility rate of the breed.
