    Agree. Both look like pullets to me. I have heard others say that hens do sometimes "crow" when they're trying to establish their spot in the pecking order.

    Haha yes, I can definitely relate. I originally thought it wouldn't cost us much at all to get started. Boy was I wrong. So worth it though. The excitement of our kids every time they find an egg and seeing how much they love carrying the hens around and talking to them is priceless.

    Thanks! It got a little pricey, but I wanted to make sure it was sturdy. It took my wife and I a few weeks of working on it on the weekend.

    Shepard and Mals can be so funny! I have been tempted to introduce mine to chickens outside of the coop, but you never know when the prey drive will kick in. I'd hate for him to make a snack out of one.

    Thanks! Tell him to stay safe out there. I spent 10 years working patrol in small towns. Just transitioned into an admin role at a small university recently. So thankful for the 9-5 M-F schedule now that my kids are getting old enough to realize dad was never home.
