So I noticed yesterday that my khaki drake is a bit off. I was digging in the compost pile to add to my garden beds and usually my ducks are right there 'helping' but the drake just hung back. He was still acting normally otherwise drinking and pushing the girls around so I didn't worry too...

Oh boy! Litterally! So it's just 'the male condition' then? Lol.

He's chasing a pony, I think he may already have brain damage! Lol I thought that might be the case, looks like I need to start putting up duck proof fencing! *sigh* Thank you Miss Lydia!:)

So my 3 month old drake has started trying to chase my pony around. He lives with his 3 girls in the barn and has since he was very young, so the pony isn't new to him. She's never chased the ducks (other than a little bit out of curiosity) and I can't tell if he's acting like she's a threat to...

Any other thoughts? Do khakis tend to have the iridescent feathers on their wings? Is this maybe not a khaki? I was thinking of keeping an incubating a few eggs, but if it's already a crossbreed I don't know if I'd want to.

8 weeks, it sounds nothing like my Pekins, but it doesn't sound like the recordings I've heard of drakes either...

At what age would I expect to see a drake feather? And if it is a drake would he be "interested" in the Pekins hens as they will probably be much bigger than him?

This is the only one that kind of shows that iridescent color. I guess in the long run it doesn't matter too much because I'm fairly certain the rest are girls, but it would be nice to know. Also they're roughly 8 weeks.
