Not to mention that most of us are backyard breeders. I shipped out a lot of fertile eggs this spring, but I only hatched out so many for myself. I had a list of local folks waiting for my extras, and in the end had to turn a few folks away because I simply ran out of extras and I'm already down...

Way back in February, several of you sent me duck eggs as part of various swaps. I've had great fun with the quackers that hatched from those eggs, so I thought you'd like to see this little video I made today of a few of them having fun in the kiddie pool. :)

As I've mentioned already, Magrat's problem was not ascites. When she died, I did a rudimentary necropsy and she was riddled with tumors. Her abdomen always felt firm, never squishy, and we were never able to aspirate any fluid. She was never egg bound, and laid eggs right up until a few weeks...
