I put straw in my compost piles. It allows for more oxygen and a overall higher temp. Less turning but there is still the need for the shovel and fork.

I alway wait to introduce new duck to my flock till they are 8 weeks old same as my chickens. Even if they are from my flock. I haven't let my duck sit on eggs for a while I incubate the eggs I get.
