    New to Eastern Idaho

Small world. I am just outside Blackfoot as well. Just where Groveland Rd curves east. Also, I worked in Fort Mill, SC just barely south of Charlotte. What brings you to the area?

Heat traced piping for chicken waterer?

Been using just a regular plastic waterer that I have to refill periodically. Don't really want to deal with the water freezing and refills all winter though. I am thinking about bringing a buried pipe and electricity over to the coop area and just running the pipe in the coop with nipples off...

    Hello....and one quick question

Feather shaft color depends on breed. Don't cut last two feathers at the tip as these have additional blood vessels. A good place if you have questions is a pet shop as they clip feathers for various bird species.

Just getting ready to restart after a year break due to relocating across the country and having to stay in an apartment for awhile. I was planning on blue Orpingtons or Australorps.

Disagree if you want. My wife trains horses. Just confirmed with her. It is not a lope. Also, FYI, a lope and canter are English and western names for the same gait.

Found a mouse in my feeder?

We ended up having to get a hanging feeder. Even then we had to make sure nothing was close enough for the mice to climb and jump.

I agree that nothing has been done to make them lame. However, that is not a lope. Horse movement in terms of speed from slowest to fastest is four-beat walk, two-beat trot (jog), three-beat lope (canter), four-beat gallop, and run. There are exceptions for gaited horses. The gait being used in...

    Chickens and soybeans?

I'd be interested to know too. A couple years ago we fed our chickens some soy feed for a couple weeks and didn't notice any adverse effects. However, I don't know if you were to do it continuously if there are any long term benefits or harm.
