Great information. How well do they handle cold winters? My dad had them as a young boy in the 1920s and 1930s in Illinois. They ranged free.
I have seen flocks of literally thousands of them in Africa...Zimbabwe. The sound is deafening.
I had from 20 to 30 at any given time, as feral cats, coyotes, foxes, and bobcats allowed...lol
We have a lot of quail here on and around the place. people ask me what I raise now, and I tell them "quail habitat".
I'm an old guy from some tough country in the high desert. I have a small 20 acre farm now...was 600 acres once, and used to raise Araucanas. This site seems to provide A Lot of good and useful information.

That is NOT a bobcat wound; it's from wire or something similar. I know first hand what a real bobcat would do to that arm. There would be stitches that looked like zippers from a genuine bobcat...
