    Mr Bob's comb is turning black at one end

    I noticed just now that our roo's comb is turing slightly black at the end. Hes a black australorp and his comb has been red for 2 years now but today I noticed the end furthest from his head seems to be turning a black color...any advice etc?

    Seattlite here.....Keep the water out and the breezes to a minimum so the girls are dry and they should be fine and Sand not pea gravel is your best bet imo

    welcome and you have already gotten pretty good advice ..I myself have integrated mixed age birds by alloowing them too live side by side for a week before "free ranging" them in the evenings under suprervision and then finally fully mixing them one night to much succes normally....good luck....

    this one of mine during initial construction and it isnt pretty either but I am telling you I got 13 hens and a Roo that are lovin life and quite happy....infact Ill update pics tomorrow while I put the temp tarproff on the run for this year....
