    Update! It's wrapped and ready to go, raised on 4" cinder blocks as well. I still need to add soil to the inside and line with straw. We have 3 chicks already and are waiting on the other 12, we can't wait! Check out our brooder box.

    Good catch, it is 1/2"! The coop will be constructed against the back wooden wall, getting the enclosure right was the initial goal. My wife and I have done this one bite at a time over a few weekends, and after work. I'll post updates as the construction continues.

    We built a 8'x16' setup -- hoop style with cattle panel and 1/4" hardware cloth. It's not perfect, but it's large enough for more hens in the future and we can say we did it all ourselves. I still have to construct the nesting boxes, add perches, and get the food/water setup.
