How to build a wooden grain bin/silo?

The dimensions from the first reply seem great. Maybe you can try and build a separate extension for the feed and build a funnel from there into the grain storage shed. It would be extra work, but it might reduce some of the weighted stress on your original layout.

    I got mice problems.

Mice usually don't attack chickens unless the horde expands considerably. But for the most part, they should be scared enough to just hide out and breed (unfortunately). I would be careful on laying down traps because you don't want the chickens to run over them. Maybe consult an exterminator...

What gender is this serama chick...

The last picture looks like it's wearing a black tiara, but then it spreads out into a cool designation.

Happy Thanksgiving to Admin and Mods

Hope the Thanksgiving holiday was a great one! Mine was just about perfect. Not too much traveling and lots and lots of great home-cooked food.

    Chicks Moved to the Coop!

That's a pretty sizeable coop. Did you build that yourself?

    3 week old leghorn

Love the picture! That's pretty big for being only 3 weeks old.

How much wood do you use in a season?

We ran about 5 cords last winter because the snow and bitter cold temps would not go away. Almost seemed like it was below freezing for a month straight. A normal winter sees about 3 cords of wood used.

    Coyote had thanksgiving duck

It's harder to get the scarecrow tactics anymore because many coyotes have become desensitized to human presence.

Should I add a female to my 2 drakes?

Yeah I would give it a trial run first and see whether or not they're civil for a given time frame. Don't want to set a dominant precedent.

    Consolidated Kansas

Good to see a Kansas page up! I'm from Manhattan, KS, and just recently graduated from KSU.

Keeping the rooster and hens together?

The fertilized eggs are delicious but I know some of my family can't stand them until they've been stored away for a while.
