Hi there!
I was curious if anyone knew of any good places to look for poultry and other crimes of opportunity. I'm in Frederick county but would be happy to travel if the juice is worth the squeeze. So if you know of places in surrounding states/areas, that would be quite fine too.
I was really...
Actually, ducks only need water deep enough that they can dip their napes into. That way they can clean out their sinuses. So your regular one gallon little giant poultry waterer would do just fine.
Unfortunately up until now she's always had buddies. My blue runner died while under a petsitter's care while we were away a couple weeks ago. She was with the chickens for a bit but they started singling her out, so they got separated.
At the moment we're in the middle of a move and figured it...
So this is something I've noticed become increasingly common with most of my ducks and was wondering what it meant. I used to only see it when they were bathing.
But they seem to do whenever we go out for a walk or come home after a long period of time now. Personally I think it has something...
I've been experimenting for awhile and I've come to find one that's always a constant favorite is the plastic foil crinkle balls made for cats. They're always the subjects of particularly heated games of "keep away".
I like to put them in the brooders too as it gives the little ones something...

I've brought my ducks into TSC on a multitude of times and had nothing but greetings from both staff and customers. To my knowledge their only policy regarding animals in store is that they be leashed and well behaved. I know the same applies to Petsmart.
Can't speak for Petco, wouldn't hurt to...
Hi there!
Does anyone know what the ordinances for Berlin/Ocean pines regarding ducks would be? I've spent hours looking around and the only resources I've found that were somewhat relevant had dead links.
I know only six hens are allowed for chickens, but was curious if maybe there was a...
Hey peeps! I was wondering if I could get some help from the more experienced chicken keepers over here.
This guy is 17 weeks old and I'm almost positive he's a little roo, but I wanted to get a second opinion.
Let me know if you'd like a view from a different angle and I'll post some more...
Hey there! Does anyone have Sesbastopol geese or hatching eggs around Frederick/Carroll county? Been looking for about three months now on craigslist and can't seem to find any around here. :D
I put a small ball in a wading pool for mine and they push that around and play with it. I also hang a zucchini or banana (Just something tasty) in the coop for them to peck and play with at while they're in there.
