    my pbp has never tried to hurt one of the chickens..matter of fact, she may think she IS a chicken. she follows me to the feed bin every morning and eats corn with the chickens. of course, my chickens think they're cats cause the come to 'here kitty kitty kitty' when we feed the cats....

    jnjross, I hope I'm wrong, but if you have gotten a bunch of Easter chicks, you probably have 7 roosters now. again, I hope I'm wrong.... a lot of times, that's what they do with excess roosters. Dye them and make cute little Easter chicks out of them.

    sometimes it comes treated. if it is treated, it will last much longer than a year. if it's exposed, just put a good thick layer of paint on it.

    I like the pvc pipe idea. you could buy a 16 ft piece of 12 inch pipe with 4, 90 degree elbos and make a nice stirdy island. you'd have 4 pieces 4 ft long. just the right size for 1/2 a sheet of marine grade plywood. it would probably float at about the right height for the ducks to be able...

    well, I just called McMurray and told them my situation. Lost a total of 8 (4 red frizzles and 4 blk silkies)..I was asked if I wanted store credit or the money put back on my visa. very nice and really no questions asked. lived up to their word. I'll use them again. I never got a response...
