mucus/slime coming from ducks mouth.
This also happens to my ducks when they've been eating slugs, especially this time of year when it's wet, and the slugs are out like crazy. The mucus from the slugs is so thick that they clean their beaks but it takes a while for them to get it all off. -

Duck x-rays?
I just had to take a duck to the vet, and the x-ray itself was only $30 and was of her entire body since ducks are so small. I agree the treatment will probably be the pricey part. In my case, she had an enlarged heart, so there wasn't anything we could do. But it did give me peace of mind...
