I have 2 drakes and 1 duck about 15 weeks old and am thinking about putting them on layer's pellets in a few weeks since I figured my duck could start laying anytime after 17 weeks. If I feed them all layer's pellets do I need to also have a dish of oyster shell out for the duck?

The one drake has always had curly drake feathers but the one I just figured out is a drake hasn't developed any curly drake feathers yet but head and butt feathers are turning almost black/green. I expect to see some curls anytime but also I've read that in some small flocks one dominant drake...

Carcajou, did you let them free range or were they in an enclosure of some sort? How much room did they have? I'm wondering if letting them free range all day rather than just when I'm home will help with any aggression. Sorry to hear about you losing your drake
