We have something like a stone for grinding food so we will probably used that as of the moment we only have rice so that’s what we are going to feed it while we don’t have any chick feed. Really hoping the store is open tomorrow
It’s not super common but it’s also not unheard of for things to get mixed up since a lot of duck carers also cares for chickens Here. The price gap isn’t also that big so I don’t think they really intend to to mix in the chicken eggs. if converted to usd, 1 chicken egg here cost around $0.13...
Yup we are hoping the store that sells chick feed is open tomorrow. We can actually leave but it’s only one person per household and that requires a quarantine pass. Even if that’s the case only the marketplace is open and only a limited stores are allowed to open which is usually for human...
We actually raised chickens before but have no experience with new borns so we are having trouble with how to warm it properly especially without any of the supplies we need. There’s a normal chicken feed that can be bought but we are not sure if that will be open because of the covid lockdown...
Yup apparently it’s a chicken. i originally said it was a duck egg because my aunt bought a tray of duck eggs not chicken eggs. I was also confused... my cousin later sent me a better picture
It was originally placed in our kitchen which is kind of open and it was 96 degrees outside. That temperature is normal here during the day especially because it’s summer it can still increase for the following days though. It’s around 81F at night now
It‘s placed in a plastic container with some tissue. And yes there are no lamps at all. They left a fluorescent light open near it to help with the warming but it’s mostly the top of the fridge the keeps it warm. we are from the Philippines
the temperature went up as high as 36 degrees celsius (96.F) earlier during the day since we are in a tropical country. We honestly don’t know how it happened and they originally thought it was some bird that fell from the open ceiling.
Sorry but we don’t have any incubators or anything like that because this is totally unexpected. We also couldn’t go out to buy stuff because of the current lockdown in our country for covid. Do you have any alternative ways? I just got a new pic from my cousin and it actually don’t look like a duck
We honestly don’t know how it hatched but it was bought as a “penoy” egg which are unfertilized duck eggs. My cousin just sent me this pic and it doesn’t look like a duck lol when it’s supposedly a duck.... i also added the egg it came with
We don’t have anything like that... my aunt bought the unfertilized egg for consumption and we really aren’t planning on hatching some but that one egg just hatched. Do you know any alternative for incubators or heat lamps? the covid lockdown in our country also make us unable to go out to buy...
So I’m not sure where I should post since i’m new here but please do delete my post if it’s not allowed.
my aunt bought a whole tray of supposedly unfertilized duck egg but one happened to hatch. We know the chances are slim but we want to at least try to make it survive. The duckling is alive...
i posted one in another place so I’ll just copy paste it
