Hello, and thank you for stopping by my profile page! As you can guess from the profile name, I have ducks! I acquired my small flock of six ducks in July of 2019. I started with two black Swedish and two fawn-and-white Indian runner ducklings from MyPetChicken.com. Then I stopped my tractor supply for some feed, and waddled out with two more babies who I think are blue Swedish. What brought me to ducks is my appreciation for animals and nature, and my passion for gardening and permaculture. I somehow decided that ducks could be the best all-natural, organic pest control and fertilizer all rolled into one! Having raised chickens before I thought, "How hard can it be, right," and dove in (webbed feet first)!

I quickly learned that raising ducks is not at all like raising chickens, and in so many ways is much harder (and messier)! But I fell in love with ducks from day one and I find it incredibly rewarding to six beautiful ducks waddling around my the backyard together with my two border-collie mix pups! I wouldn't trade it for the world!

I joined the Backyard Chicken community so that I could learn from all of you and share all of my wonderful duck adventures! Well, let's get quackin', shall we?
