1 Gander trying to kill the other gander?

I'm in North Georgia. When I know we are going to have a big freeze like you are talking about I'll just drain the pool and wait until it warms up before I clean and fill it again. We used 4" PVC pipe going out of the back of the pool. I've never had an issue with the water inside the pipe...

1 Gander trying to kill the other gander?

I know nothing about geese but I do know about building a shallow pond. I sheet of plywood, and 2" x 12" for around the sides, then fiberglass and resin it. One thing we didn't think to do it sink the drain so now I have to sweep the excess water into the drain before I can clean it. We've got a...

What do you feed your ducks?

No, I haven't looked for any other information. I've been using this for quite awhile now and am very happy with it, as are the ducks.

    Show Me Your Runners

thank you for your kind comments. Their big pool was made from 1 sheet of plywood which is 4' x 8'. the sides are 2"x 12" boards. They were put together and then fiberglassed just like they do with boats. Many layers of fiberglass and resin. We used to own a big fishing boat so my husband knows...

I've got 13 runners and will soon have a Rhode Island red rooster! Don't know how that is going to go but I'll give it a try. @Miss Lydia keeps her ducks, chickens, and goose together so I know it can be done.

I think you misunderstood about the Muscovy runners, there aren't any. @Miss Lydia just missed putting in a coma.

help with hatching duck umbilical cord or yolk sac

I'm not sure what that is but hopefully it's the yolk. I think the best thing you can do is put it in a small Tupperware bowl on a DRY paper towel and leave it in the incubator.

    Opinions on best feed.

I make my own feed with a recipe of red wheat, barley, alfalfa, millet, sunflower seeds, kelp, nutritional yeast, rye, soybean meal, flax, oats, split peas, lentils. It's 19% protein the way I mix it. I do put in 4 cups of Nature wise pellets too.

    Dogs vs Ducks

Never used a leash. My dogs are HORRID on leashes. When I was hatching my ducklings I had the dogs around the incubator so they could see the eggs and once they started hatching they were right there watching. I let them be around the tiny ones when they were first hatched and they were very...

    Dogs vs Ducks

I have 3 border collies who are very smart. 2 of them grew up with the ducks and they know it's their responsibility to not hurt them and to watch over them. My 2-year-old girl really takes it seriously and honestly, I didn't have to do any training. They were just told what to do and not do and...

    ***URGENT*** Bowed Legged Duckling

I honestly don't know if 6 weeks is too old. Maybe with the separator, it can fix it.
