    Buff Orpington’s feathers look…. Different?

Hello! I have two buff orpington chicks that are now a month old. Eugenie’s feathers look much different from the rest of my chicks but not the same as her pair Sleepy’s. Can anyone tell me why they look like this?

Am I correct on these breeds?

I posted some updated pics! 2 doesn’t have feathered feet and has some silly head feather coming in so I think you’re right about the polish! The golden chick has pretty silver coming in on her wings, maybe laced?

Buying Pullets vs Straight Run ??

Hi friends! I am new to chicks, and purchased a dozen from a local co-op. They were labeled as pullets, vs my bantams from TS that were labeled straight run. I got thinking about it and realized the difference, did some googling, and wanted to confirm I am right. Pullets are sexed hens, where as...

    Prolapsed vent?? Please help!

I hold her a little closer to the heat lamp until she is almost completely dry, using my hand as a barrier so she isn't getting too much direct heat. Is that ok, do you think? I have a lot of local honey I can use too!

    Prolapsed vent?? Please help!

I will try those things also! I have been giving her warm water soaks and gentle cleanings to keep it clean and then covering it with aquaphor. Luckily hers doesn't seem inflamed or red anymore, just still swollen a bit. I hope your baby also recovers! How old is your pullet? Also, the other...

    Prolapsed vent?? Please help!

Hello! I am new to chickens and my chicks are roughly a week and a half old. They have been in a brooder with a heat lamp and shaved pine bedding. I check them twice a day for pasty butts and had issues the first couple days with a couple of the chicks and gave them a warm water soak and gentle...
