That is really helpful! I’m trying not to fret over every little thing but I am new to chickens and just want them to be happy and healthy lol. Thank you!
Hi! I have a new little flock that are about to be 10 weeks old this weekend. One is starting to sound older I think, but since none of the others have also I'm worrying she'd sick instead. What do you think?
Hello! I have two buff orpington chicks that are now a month old. Eugenie’s feathers look much different from the rest of my chicks but not the same as her pair Sleepy’s. Can anyone tell me why they look like this?
I posted some updated pics! 2 doesn’t have feathered feet and has some silly head feather coming in so I think you’re right about the polish! The golden chick has pretty silver coming in on her wings, maybe laced?
Here are some updated pictures! 1&2 are Sleepy and Rei Cochins?, 3 is Foxy (Foxy Cleopatra) Polish something? 4 is Erica porcelain D’Uccle ? and 5 is Auggie Mille Fleur D’Uccle?
Hello Doreen! I’m from YC also! I’ve just started my first flock, I’m sorry about the loss of your husband and hens, and excited for your new adventure with the next flock!

I hold her a little closer to the heat lamp until she is almost completely dry, using my hand as a barrier so she isn't getting too much direct heat. Is that ok, do you think? I have a lot of local honey I can use too!
I will try those things also! I have been giving her warm water soaks and gentle cleanings to keep it clean and then covering it with aquaphor. Luckily hers doesn't seem inflamed or red anymore, just still swollen a bit. I hope your baby also recovers! How old is your pullet? Also, the other...
Hello!
I am new to chickens and my chicks are roughly a week and a half old. They have been in a brooder with a heat lamp and shaved pine bedding. I check them twice a day for pasty butts and had issues the first couple days with a couple of the chicks and gave them a warm water soak and gentle...
