    Automatic watering system prototype

I'm curious about your set up as well. I'm really frustrated with the watering setup I use now as it seems to either leak, or the birds just make a wild mess of it.

Made a little more progress this weekend. Learned how to do cedar shake shingle siding and have managed to almost complete the whole coops exterior using left over shingles from the neighbors! Also, experimenting with feed and watering options. I was a little shocked at how fast our...

Cornish Broiler Roosters - Right at about 8 Weeks

Oh I'd love to harvest the broilers, I have no issue with that. But the ladies in my life have deemed all our chickens as pets and therefore I can eat only the eggs and must rehome the boys lol.

side note, I posted some cornish broilers we are looking to rehome. I'll just post the link here instead of cluttering up this thread since locals are more likely to be interested. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/cornish-broiler-roosters-right-at-about-8-weeks.1384926/

Cornish Broiler Roosters - Right at about 8 Weeks

We have 5 Cornish Broilers, 4 of them I believe are roosters and we're looking to sell or trade the boys if there is any interest. We are not picky about what we get in return, and it doesn't even have to be a chicken if it can live with our chickens. Quail, Silkies, easter eggers, etc. We...

Almost done. Hardware mesh in the window so that we can open it for additional ventilation. One gutter hung, I have another to put up. My wife pruned a branch from the madrona and the birds seem to like it: as part of the landscaping we repurposed the old close line next to the...

I realized that I wanted the bottom run of the hardware mesh to be tucked up under the house siding... so we had to do some finagling to get that all back in there. I built this whole project using screws instead of nails because I figured I'd make a lot of mistakes and want to easily undo them.

Then we took two weeks off to plan a small COVID wedding since our elopement plans had to be cancelled. We had planned to get married in Thailand, but obviously the international flights weren't happening. Looking at this beach project we did in the middle of our coop project makes we think we...

Wow accomplished so much more during the pandemic. We aren't done yet, but we moved the birds in this past weekend. As you can see here, predator protection put in all around the coop. We don't have a garage, and didn't use plans so I had sketched out the design on a napkin then...

yes lol. I'm glad I overbuilt our coop to suit about triple the birds we had planned on. I found cornish broilers up at Tractor supply in Port Orchard about the same time Wilco called the girls and told them they found our Americaunas.... so we ended up double the size of our flock that day lol...

I bet we could possibly make mossyrock work Saturday even. What do you have available and how old are they? That would be great if it worked out!

Hi All I have a small emergency request.... Our chicks we're back ordered three weeks. We got our ducklings last night but they sold our chicks to someone else. So they set aside five more for us for today but sold those too .... I have some very sad girls at home with a brooder all set up and...
