I'm down in Central Florida so I'll have a look around. My wife and daughter wanted a male do be able to see the hole process from laid egg to hatching. I'll see about finding someone that wants these for meat then as I'm sure it's just inhumane to let them get much bigger. I'm sure she will...
After loosing a hatchling my wife came home with 4 more from tractor supply lol so now we have nine. These 2 in the pictures 2 weeks younger than the rest but are much bigger already and one is already getting a red comb so we are starting to think we might have a rooster which my wife is...
so last year we had 6 hens and ended up having a couple of foxes get into the coop and took all but 1. shes been alone for about 9 months but we just recently picked up 5 chicks of about 3 weeks old. when its time for them to go to the coop how should that be handled with the adult hen?
well unfortunately i dont see it making it thorough the night. was doing this pretty good most of the day until i had to leave for about 6 hours. i could barely get him to eat yolk and would only want water. the last hour only got weaker.
yeah my hopes arnt high for this one, the other 5 are fat and happy. he was walking around my desk and just trips over everything then walked right off the edge. thankfully right into my hand lol. just picked up nutridrench and gave him 2 drops so we will see.
we have decided to get more chicks from our local mom and pop farm supply store after we had an issue with a fox last year that took all but one of our hens. we picked up 6 few day old chicks and 5 are doing great. the 6th and smallest one not so much.
im pretty sure it is blind or very close...
