Can I electrify a welded wire fence?

Thanks. Yeah, I guess I didn't really understand how the electric fence worked.

Can I electrify a welded wire fence?

Thanks. But, wouldn't the weasel be able to climb over the hardware cloth unless I stretched it up the full height of the fence? I had thought about this, but it seemed like it could just go over.

Can I electrify a welded wire fence?

Hi, so last year I had a weasel that devastated my flock. I'm looking to up the protection for the survivors, and the next generation. I already have a welded wire fence (2" x 4") that runs the length of my run. It goes 2' down and 6' above ground, and above that going to ~14' is plastic deer...

    Feeling guilty winterizing...

Hi, could you share a picture of your setup? Is it a container you fill every day? Or does it fill from a larger bucket? I'm looking for some sort of indoor waterer for my ducks at night, but they make such a mess. Hoping I can find a solution that doesn't make the inside of their coop too wet.

    Duck waterer?

This is a great idea. I'm wondering, how messy does this get? I'm keeping my ducks in my garage to protect them for the winter. We recently had a weasel that wiped out all but three of my birds. I hate how much water gets spilled by the ducks from their playing, etc. Makes everything so wet.

In-coop waterers for chickens and ducks

Thanks. This is similar to what I was thinking. At least for the chickens. Do they learn to use this pretty quickly? I don't have any experience with this in particular. I imagine this wouldn't work well for ducks, unless someone else has experience with this.

In-coop waterers for chickens and ducks

Hi, I'm hoping for some recommendations/suggestions here. I recently had my flock decimated by a weasel, and the survivors are spending the rest of the winter in my garage. But come Spring I'd like to set up a few new systems to keep them safe. In the past I've extended the day to increase...

    Questions regarding a mixed flock

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll avoid the bathtub then. I assume a typical kiddie pool would be shallow enough? Especially if I don't fill it up all the way?

    Questions regarding a mixed flock

So I will be adding ducks to my existing chicken flock. I plan on building them their own coops, and adapting the feeders to accommodate the ducks (and get a whole flock feed). As I think about what I'll need to change the thing that concerns me at the moment is having something for the ducks...

    Protecting from Weasels

Looking for some advice for dealing with weasels. We've had at least two attacks that have taken out 5 birds. We have a coops made largely of wood, with a door for the chickens to get in and out of, two plexiglass windows, some ventilation vents, and some hardware cloth below their roost to...
