We put our girls out last week, (new ones in the brooder this week). It got below freezing a couple of nights, we had no troubles. They huddled together in the tractor's Hen House and did fine. I put them on at 7 weeks, they were fully feathered. 12 birds in a 38x32x24 box for the night.
Our post office calls us when the little guys show up. That way they don't sit on the truck all day. Baby critters are normal at our PO, ahh living in the country is great.

Thanks I have lurked here for several months. Gaining a welth of knowledge before buying our babys. We got them last week, unfortunatly we lost several, but the rest are doing well, and I have more set to arive in april.
We go shopping twice a month. I get paid twice a month so it works out well. We spend about $500 a month on groceries and pet/farm food. I would love to buy flower, sugar, and beans in bulk (larger then SAM's) but it looks as if the shipping costs to get stuff to us, makes buying at Wallmart...
